Missions and Outreach

The students outreach to school and parishes mainly during the 5 weeks of Lent and it is part of the training in Evangelisation. The outreach programme consists of day retreats to Secondary Schools and participation in the Weekend Masses in various parishes. We evangelise in the streets, at youth clubs and in parishes.

Outreach activities

The students give day-retreats in Secondary Schools through the following activities:

- Music Sessions

- Mimes and drama

- PowerPoint presentations and video clips

- Testimonies/Life Stories

- Proclamation of the Core Gospel Truths

- Short Talks on Christian Values and Human Sexuality

- Group workshops: Icebreakers, different games, answering students’ questions

- Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation

Outreach success

We are very happy that our students outreached to almost 4,000 young people in Secondary Schools and parishes to date. The majority of those young people went to confession, even though for many of them it was the first time since receiving their first Holy Communion.

In terms of school retreats and outreach, we are receiving positive feedback from students and staff.  Both Staff and students of the school, past and present, agree that the School provides an environment, where young people can prepare themselves for life and mission in answer Pope John Paul II’s call during World Youth Day 1989.

‘Each new generation needs new apostles. This means a special mission for you. You young people are the first apostles and evangelisers of the world of youth, assailed today by so many challenges and so much that is threatening’.
John Paul II

We also seek as a School of Evangelisation, to evangelise through the wider community, by facilitating Scripture Studies, Life in the Spirit Seminars, Prayer Meetings and Retreats for the public.
