Community Life

As Our Lady’s school of Evangelisation - Knock is residential, students live together for nine months.

This type of school is the first of its kind in Ireland. It has as its backbone the residential aspect of living in community, which enables the young adults to adopt various skills and responsibilities, which they may never attain in a non-residential academic environment.

Charity and Friendship

Community life is the third pillar of our school, which helps students to grow in friendship and charity. In the community life a Christian attitude of service towards your brothers and sisters is essential. The aim of community life is living together to grow on holiness and reach our full potential. All expectations, responsibilities and duties are directed to the Common Good. Therefore a commitment of obedience and service is required of everyone throughout the year. This makes the community experience at Our Lady’s School of Evangelisation - Knock edifying, up-building and joyful.

Common Activities

Everyday we are praying, studying and working together. We enjoy one another’s company whether it is a game, sport, singing and playing music, or going for walks in the country.

All students are assigned into different teams that intended to provide an opportunity for students to interact and come to know each other in a different setting. At the same time the teams help to distribute the workload fairly for cooking, cleaning, household chores, and they change the working area from one month to another on a rotation basis.

International Trip

As a part of our year program we provide an international trip to visit and spend some times with different religious communities. Last year we spent two weeks with Incarnate Word Community in Segni, near Rome. Apart from visiting Rome, students have an excellent opportunity to experience what the religious life is about. They took part in several lectures about vocation and spirituality. Informal character of trip created spaces for students to spent time together and built friendship among them.
